It's been crazy over on my end for the past few months. I've been gigging quite a bit with the Brian Fitzy Trio, plus I did a few more shows with Dephonic and have been busy and on the road with Ceann. We're most of the way finished with all the work on Ceann's new album, and I've wrapped everything but vocals on my new solo disc.

Shot of the crowd before we (Ceann) took the stage on Saturday at the Great American Irish Festival (Utica, NY).
This Friday (7/30) I'll be at The Attic Lounge with my trio, Saturday in Exton at Weso's, and Sunday I'll be performing with Bread at the Northern Liberties Festival. Sonically very much all over the place.
No sleep for me. If you're a musician in the Philadelphia area, I need you to come out on Sunday nights to the new Landmark Americana location on 34th & Market. It's right on Drexel's campus. I'm hosting an Open Mic/Open Jam with Anil Veeraraj on keys and Ben Cuyler on drums. It runs from 9pm to midnight and we need the support, but most importantly some fresh new players to come through! All styles are welcome and you can go it alone or with your own band, or we can back you on -- seriously -- ANYTHING. Hope to see you this coming weekend!
If you're a regular listener of the Preston & Steve show on 93.3 WMMR in Philly, you've probably heard my funk/hip hop track "Everyone's Irish." If you dig the tune you can get it for free right here: click me!
Hope to see all of you soon -- check out my GIGS section for dates.
Finishin the new album over the next 7 days -- lots of features and big (arrangement-wise, to start) tracks. Exciting!
Even more exciting perhaps is next weekend: I'll be playing two opening dates for the Doggfather himself, SNOOP DOGG, with Philly's DEPHONIC. 2/27 at Bates College (Lewiston, ME) and 2/28 back home in Philly at the TLA! Those of you tryin to catch my solo group in the area, I'll be at The Attic Lounge in Sadsburyville, PA on Friday 2/26 starting at 9pm. We were in Manayunk for a small but great crowd last night and had a blast! Hope to see all of you out there soon.
Boom boom bap...
It's been a while since I hit you with an update. I'm just about wrapped all the pre-pre-production on my new solo record, and the final tracking sessions will begin in February. It's exciting to finally have a follow-up to "Turn It Up" taking shape, and this is certainly a much different and much more developed direction.
February represents a "month off" for Leaving Cash, but we'll also be busy working on our new album. In the meantime, my trio/quartet will be gigging around the area, so be sure to catch us live! Among an entire week of very cool and diverse shows, this Saturday I'll be live with Dephonic at the Electric Factory opening up for State Radio. Hope to see your face in the crowd somewhere soon.
Back to work for me!
Well, the time is just about here. My band Leaving Cash will be working with Downingtown Middle school's orchestra program for an in-school performance/assembly THIS Thursday. The cut we'll be performing is "Lies," a heavily orchestrated track off our album Give A Little Try. I had a great time rehearsing with the students today and answering questions that they had. Their enthusiasm was through the roof and if they all stick with their instruments, Downingtown will have a strong new addition to their roster of high school players. I'm hoping that their energy transfers to the rest of the student body and faculty. After performing "Lies," we'll do a few of our other violin-intensive cuts and have a bit of a question and answer segment for the students.
We'll be shooting a few different angles and recording the audio to eventually edit together a short video on the event. Hopefully we can lock down a venue and date within the next few days for a public performance, which I expect will take place mid-November.
Had an excellent jam last night at IUP with Dephonic. We were Asher Roth's opener at their "HUB" for a sold-out crowd. The crowd was hype and we had a great time warming them up.
I have several projects over the rest of October to get ready to go, including my new EP, which has ballooned to approx. 10 tracks now. Also, my band Leaving Cash will be working with one of Downingtown, PA's middle schools' orchestra program for an in-school performance/assembly. Organization and planning of a live performance of the same material is still in the works but I'll keep you in the loop. Ciao!
This past Monday I kicked it at World Cafe Live's Open Mic. I was joined by a few friends of mine: Anil Veeraraj on keys, Adam Chantry on drums, and Matt Radomile on guitar. To check out the grooves we laid down, you can download mp3's right HERE. Anil will be performing with Michael Cain on vibes, Joe Truglio on drums (joetruglio.com), and Arthur Paley on bass (myspace.com/zdaasbass) at Zesty's in Manayunk on Friday (9/18) from 9:30pm-1:30am.
Tomorrow night I'll be performing solo from 9:30-1:30 at PJ Ryan's in Phoenixville, Friday I'll be at Weso's in Exton, and Saturday night I'll be with DEPHONIC at The Bitter End in NYC. Sunday you can find me in West Chester from 1pm-5pm with Jamie Tillman for Restaurant Fest at Doc Magrogan's. Hope to see you at any or all of them.
One other quick, yet very important, thing to touch on: My band Leaving Cash will be at THE KENNETT FLASH on Thursday September 24. Doors at 7pm. We perform at 8pm. Tickets $8. For some more info check out the Facebook event HERE
New vids to come from recent shows with the band and other projects. Catch you all on the flip.
The past month has been busy. Besides gigging, my band Leaving Cash is working on new material in the studio and this past Sunday night we were the featured artist on 93.7FM WSTW's "Hometown Heroes." If you didn't get a chance to catch it live, you can download the podcast :here:. Huge thanks to Mark Rogers! This WEDNESDAY you can catch Leaving Cash in an acoustic duo setting at The Note in West Chester, PA. Starting around 8 we'll be doing a mix of covers and originals as we kick off our Wednesday residency. Hope to see you out! More info at the Facebook event.
I've got more videos up, and more on their way out of editing so check out the YouTube channel or Videos section. Some demos from my new solo record will be showing up on here in the next couple weeks as well. Expect a very eclectic mix of genres.
